I must admit, I was surprised to see how graphic a few of the illustrations were; for example, the murdered Julius Caesar lies bloody while a senator knees nearby and throws up; a woman throws a slop jar that is clearly filled with pee and turds out of a window (did they really do that in Egypt??).
It also appears that Cleopatra was secretly negotiating with Octavian, unbeknownst to Antony. Always the more level-headed and strategic of the two, Cleopatra pelo doubt saw that Antony was doomed – but their children might not be.
